Can not eating all day make you vomit? (NO IM NOT STARVING MYSELF)?

So my boyfriend and I live in a small city right outside of New Orleans. Yesterday we woke up late in the afternoon and decided to spend the day in the French Quater with some friends. I had woke up with a bad head ache so I took 2 walmart brand Tylenol. We decided to wait and eat once we got to the city, but one of our friends was taking a long time to get ready. I was starving so I munched on a handful of funyuns chips and a few sips of red cream soda. Maybe 20mins later I started vomiting. I vomited up the chips and drink twice, after that my stomach was empty so I threw up yellow bile once. After that I finally ate and never threw up again the whole day. So Im wondering if maybe just waiting too long to eat caused this or did maybe taking the aspriin with out food cause this?
